That guy at the coffee shop who mansplained Warhammer 40k lore to me for 20 minutes
He asked if I was painting minis for my boyfriend and then corrected my brush technique with his own Citadel pot still drying out on the table, has anyone else dealt with someone assuming you're just there for the aesthetic?

A 20 minute lecture is a bit much, but the brush technique thing is pretty funny if you think about it. Sounds like a guy who just learned how to thin his paints last week and now thinks he's the next Eavy Metal pro. Sure, it's annoying to be assumed as a bystander, but at the same time, everyone in this hobby has gotten unsolicited advice at some point. Could just be a lonely dude desperate to talk about space marines with anyone who makes eye contact. Doesn't make it right, but it also doesn't sound like the end of the world either.
