PSA: My game group's vibe totally shifted after we added a points tracker
We used to have these long, quiet breaks where everyone was counting their own stuff and the mood just died. That was six months ago. I bought a cheap whiteboard for $15 and now we mark everyone's points after each round. The whole table talks more, people cheer for big moves, and games finish 20 minutes faster. It's crazy how one small change fixed our biggest problem. Has anyone else found a simple tool that saved their game night?

Our group tried a whiteboard for Terraforming Mars and it was a total mood killer. People just stared at the points instead of talking, and it made every single move feel super competitive. We actually went back to private score pads because the quiet math time lets people plan and joke around without pressure. That whiteboard is in my garage now.

The whiteboard glare actually gave me a headache last time.
