My game group used to meet in a tiny apartment, now we have a whole room for it
Three years ago, we'd cram six people into my friend's 400 square foot studio in Chicago, playing Catan on a coffee table with drinks balanced on the floor. Last month, that same friend bought a house and turned his spare bedroom into a dedicated game room with proper shelving and a big table. Just last week, we were setting up a new campaign there, and I realized we spent more time talking about painting miniatures than actually playing. It's funny how the space changes the vibe from just hanging out to feeling like a real club. Has anyone else's group gotten more serious once you had a permanent spot?

My group's "game room" is just my buddy's garage with a space heater, but we still spent forty minutes last Tuesday arguing about the right shade of gray for castle walls. At this rate we'll finish painting our terrain by 2025 and maybe roll some dice.

My old group once spent two hours debating if a dragon's belly scales should be more yellow or green. We never even got to the combat that night.
