My buddy's dice tower story had me laughing, then I built one from a cereal box

Last Friday, my friend Mike showed up with a $70 wooden dice tower and insisted it changed his whole gaming night routine, which I thought was total overkill. He let me roll my D20 through it and the sound was so satisfying that I went home and duct-taped a Cinnamon Toast Crunch box into a janky version. Has anyone else tried making cheap gaming gear after seeing someone's fancy setup, or am I the only one who gets hooked like this?

Read somewhere that cardboard towers actually dampen the sound better than wood, so your cereal box might be smarter than his fancy one.
