I thought legacy games were just a cash grab until I played Pandemic Legacy
My game group in Chicago picked it up six months ago, and I was sure the 'permanent changes' thing was a gimmick. We played the first session and I had to actually tear up a card, which felt wild. By the third month, our board was covered in stickers and we were all totally into the story. Has anyone else had a game completely change their mind about a whole style of play?

You said "permanent changes thing was a gimmick" and honestly I still sorta feel that way even after trying a couple legacy games. I get why people love Pandemic Legacy, but to me the whole tearing up cards and sticking stickers just feels like forced drama. I'd rather replay a well designed game a hundred times than have one campaign that permanently ruins components. My group played Betrayal Legacy and half way through we realized we were just going through the motions to unlock the next envelope instead of actually enjoying each session. Not saying they're scams, just not my thing.
