Figured out why my board game inserts were always warping after two months
I kept buying those foam core inserts for my heavier games like Gloomhaven and they'd start bending after maybe 8 weeks. Drove me nuts because I'd spend like 4 hours cutting and fitting them. Finally realized the issue was humidity in my basement game room. I grabbed a $20 hygrometer from Amazon and sure enough it was reading 68% down there. Bought a small dehumidifier for $60 and ran it for a week straight. Now my inserts stay flat and I don't have to rebuild them every few months. Has anyone else dealt with warping from a damp storage space?

Is it really that big of a deal though? I've had foam core inserts in my game closet for years and they're all fine. Maybe it's the specific type of board you're using or how tight you're cutting the pieces. Some of that cheap foam core from the dollar store just isn't built to last no matter what you do to the room.
