Debate: should you save a broken game or toss it?
I had this happen last weekend with my copy of Fireball Island... the rubber band that launches the fireball snapped right in the middle of a game. Part of me wanted to try and fix it with a new band from a craft store, maybe spend a dollar and keep it going. The other side of me said just toss it and buy a new copy, since the replacement cost is like 40 bucks and it's not a rare game. I ended up trying the fix with a thick rubber band from the kitchen drawer, but it snapped again after two turns. So now I'm stuck wondering if I should order a proper replacement part online or just call it a loss. What do you guys do when a board game breaks mid-session... do you try to repair it or move on? Has anyone else dealt with a snapped rubber band or similar piece failure?

Honestly I read somewhere that those old rubber band fixes can actually mess with the tension and break stuff faster. It's like a bandaid on a broken bone, just delays the real problem. Better to bite the bullet and buy the right part now instead of replacing the whole thing later.
