Spent a whole Saturday trying to fix my forge blower motor

I had this old Champion blower that started humming but not spinning, thought it was a quick bearing swap. Ended up taking the whole motor apart three times before I found a stuck centrifugal switch that was barely visible. How long did it take you to figure out a simple problem that turned into a marathon of troubleshooting?

Did you try the old "hit it with a hammer" trick before or after the third teardown? I spent four hours once on a seized pulley on a grinder, only to realize I forgot to take the key out before yanking on it. Nothing like staring at a thing for 45 minutes before you notice the stupid little piece of metal that's been hiding in plain sight the whole time.

Four hours? I would've thrown the whole grinder in the trash after hour two.
