My kid asked why I always make the same kind of knife handle

She said 'it looks like all your knives are holding hands', and it hit me that I'd gotten stuck in a rut. Anyone else find a simple question from outside the shop made you change up a routine part of your work?

Kids see the pattern right away. We get so focused on the steps we forget the shape of the whole thing. Happens with everything from cooking to building a deck.
