Bought a $180 propane forge burner online and it rusted out in 3 weeks
I picked up a burner from one of those knife supply sites back in March and it looked solid out of the box. By week three the flare had flaked apart and the whole thing was sputtering bad enough that I could not hold heat on a simple railroad spike knife. I pulled it apart and the inside was pitted worse than a 20 year old grill grate, so I was out the full $180 plus shipping. Turns out a $30 burner kit from a plumbing shop and an hour of drilling my own jet would have done the same job. Anybody got a burner they have run hard for a year or more without this nonsense?
