Wasted 7 episodes on Dark before I realized I needed subtitles

I kept watching the English dub and couldn't figure out why the lip movements never matched and some scenes felt off. Finally my buddy asked why I wasn't watching it in German with subs like everyone else. Switched halfway through season 1 and everything clicked way better. Anyone else have a show that made way more sense after changing the language settings?

Subtitles change everything. You miss so much nuance without them.

Missing so much nuance" is an understatement - I'm pretty sure I thought the main character was just really into staring at walls for the first 3 episodes before I switched to subs.
