Update: My sister in Phoenix rewatched Breaking Bad 4 times and it wrecked how I pick a new show
My sister called me from Phoenix last Tuesday and said she has rewatched Breaking Bad 4 times and cannot start anything new because nothing feels as good. I laughed at first, but then I realized I do the same thing with The Wire and have not finished a new show since last fall. She said the problem is we pick shows by hype instead of by what we are actually in the mood for, and that hit me hard. I tried her method of matching a show to my mood that night and started Shogun, and I am 3 episodes in already. So what is your rule for picking a new show when nothing sounds good?
The "matching a show to my mood" thing sounds like overthinking it. People rewatch Breaking Bad four times because it's easy and they already know they like it, not because they cracked some code on picking shows. Just throw something on and give it two episodes, if it's boring move on.
