Tried to watch one episode of a baking show at 9pm, looked up and it was 4am
Three years ago I started a British baking competition show thinking I would watch one episode before bed. That was a mistake. I finished the whole season in two nights and showed up to work on maybe four hours of sleep. My husband found me at 3am on the couch with a half eaten sleeve of crackers, yelling at the TV about a soggy bottom. I even started narrating my own toast like I was a contestant. Now I refuse to press play on any cooking show after 8pm. What show got you like this, and how many episodes did it take?
The "narrating my own toast like I was a contestant" part got me because I did the exact same thing with Great British Menu. I burned through six episodes in one sitting and started describing my leftovers to my cat like I was presenting them to a panel of judges. The crackers at 3am is real too, something about those shows makes you feel like you need a snack. I've got the same 8pm rule now, it's the only way.
