Thought The Expanse was overhyped space junk - I was dead wrong

My buddy kept pushing it for like a year and I finally caved last month. I figured it'd be more of that fake sci-fi drama nonsense. But after the first 3 episodes the world building just clicked for me. The way they handle gravity on ships and the political stuff feels way more real than Star Trek or whatever. Has anyone else had a show they hated at first that totally won them over?
