Started watching The Bear on a whim Friday night, now I'm 14 episodes deep and my Sunday plans are completely ruined.
I went in thinking it was just another cooking show but the family drama and anxiety attacks hit way too close to home, has anyone else had to take a breather after the episode where everyone just screams at each other in the kitchen?

Read a review saying that episode with the kitchen meltdown was actually based on real chef stories about working in high stress kitchens and it made me realize how accurate the show actually is. That whole scene where they're all screaming at each other over the tickets and the timing gave me actual flashbacks to my old retail job where everyone would just lose it during the holiday rush. The way the show builds up that tension with the background noise and the overlapping dialogue is way too real, I had to pause and walk away for a few minutes. Honestly the whole show feels like watching a panic attack play out in slow motion but you just can't look away.

Sympathy for sure, @price.alice. That retail holiday rush comparison is spot on, the way they layer the noise and chaos in that show makes it feel way too familiar. Had to take a few deep breaths myself watching that scene, it's like they bottled anxiety into a TV show.
