Showerthought: Why do I keep rewatching The Office for the 8th time?
I was at Home Depot grabbing some PVC fittings for a job in Bakersfield last week and overheard this kid telling his buddy he'd never rewatch a show because 'there's too much new stuff to see'. It hit me that I've seen The Office all the way through 7 or 8 times now and I still catch little background jokes I missed. Do you guys have a show you cycle through every year or two that never gets old?

My 8 rewatches of The Office would be rookie numbers next to my buddy who's on his 14th run of Parks and Rec. I keep telling myself I'll start something new on Netflix but then I see it in my continue watching and it's like coming home to an old friend. Plus every time I rewatch I notice something dumb like the time Michael pulled up in that tiny Smart car and I laugh just as hard as the first time. Maybe we're just creatures of habit but at least we're predictable creatures of habit.

Has anyone else noticed how these shows become like comfort food when you rewatch them? I read an article recently that said rewatching familiar shows can actually lower anxiety, which makes a lot of sense to me. @ellis.charles I have watched The Office all the way through maybe 10 times now, and I still catch background details I missed before. My wife thinks I am crazy but I have shows that I just rotate through when I need something familiar to wind down. Parks and Rec is definitely on that list too, Ron Swanson is one of my favorite characters of all time.
