Shoutout to that slow-burn crime drama everyone missed last year

I kept hearing friends hype up the same 3 shows over and over, so I dug through a streaming list I found on a random blog. That's how I landed on this Irish crime series called 'Kin' from 2021. Nobody I know talks about it, but the pacing and family drama hooked me harder than any flashy new release. Am I the only one who finds these overlooked gems better than the big hits?

I used to be the guy who only watched the big buzzy shows. I thought if something wasn't trending on Twitter or getting 10 million views, it probably wasn't worth my time. Then I stumbled onto "Kin" last year and it totally flipped that. That slow burn pacing you mentioned, that's exactly what got me too. It's not trying to shock you every five minutes with some crazy twist, it just lets the story breathe and the characters feel real. Now I actively search out those overlooked gems because they feel more honest somehow, less polished and fake than the big budget stuff.

My neighbor found a show about a guy who paints houses and it's literally the most tense thing i've ever seen, no explosions at all.
