PSA: dont trust a 'critically acclaimed' show just because reddit says so

Ngl I wasted a full 8 hour Sunday on 'The Azure Peaks' after 3 separate threads hyped it as the next big thing. Turned out the writing fell off hard after episode 2 and the ending in episode 6 left me mad I didnt bail earlier. Has anyone else been burned by overhyped recs from this sub and found a way to spot them faster?

Did you check if the hype was mostly from the first few episodes before you started? Sometimes people post about shows before they finish them, then the whole thing falls apart later.
