My wife bet me $50 I couldn't finish 3 seasons of that British baking show in one weekend, and I almost proved her wrong
I pulled a muscle in my back two Fridays ago and was stuck on the couch in Columbus with nothing to do. My wife said no way I could get through 3 seasons of The Great British Bake Off before Monday, so we made it a bet. I got through season 5 in about 6 hours on Saturday, mostly because the show is weirdly calm and I couldn't reach the remote to change it. Sunday I did seasons 6 and 7 back to back and realized I had skipped every single technical challenge because I was making lunch during them. Then Monday I went back and rewatched all the technicals and honestly those are better than the showstoppers. I lost the bet because I passed out during the finale at 9pm. Has anyone else noticed the technical bakes are where the real drama is, or am I just watching this wrong?

Oh man, losing a bet to your own couch is a new level of defeat. But you're right about the technicals, that's where they all quietly fall apart and it's way better TV than a pretty cake.
