Just finished binging both versions of The Stand back to back

The 90s miniseries is way better than the 2020 one. Gary Sinise as Stu Redman actually felt like a real guy, not a superhero. Has anyone else noticed how the newer version rushed the whole Boulder section?

Actually aired in 1994" - well bless your heart for being exact about it, but that's still the 90s in my book. I think people get too hung up on dates and miss the bigger picture. The 1994 version worked because it had patience. It let you sit with the characters during the quiet parts before everything fell apart. The new one felt like it was checking off a list of scenes instead of telling a story. And I agree with you about the Boulder section being rushed in the 2020 version, that was where the old one really shined. Not trying to start a fight with you, @price.alice, but I watched both of them and the pacing difference is night and day.

Oh honey, I hate to be that person but the 90s miniseries actually aired in 1994, not the 90s exactly... it was a four night event so the pacing felt more natural.
