I watched The Office three times before noticing the gradual lighting change per season

I was rewatching S1 the other night and realized how dim and gray everything looked compared to later seasons. Over about 2 years of production, they slowly added brighter lighting and warmer tones starting around S3. My buddy pointed it out that it matched the show getting less awkward and more heartwarming. Anyone else catch small production shifts like this in long-running shows?

Totally blew my mind when I noticed the lighting changing season by season like that.

I don't quite see it that way, @verab28. The lighting in the show seems pretty consistent to me, maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention.
