Had to choose between rewatching The Wire or starting The Americans for the first time.

I picked The Americans and binged the first three seasons in two weeks, but now I'm wondering if I should've stuck with my old favorite instead since that show's pacing was so familiar and comforting has anyone else regretted a new show mid-binge?

Had to choose between rewatching The Wire or starting The Americans" - oh man, that's a rough call. I did basically the same thing but with Breaking Bad and Mad Men a few years back (still haven't forgiven myself for abandoning Don Draper mid-season 3). Look, I get the regret, new show pacing can feel like jogging in wet sand when you're used to the comfy old shoe of a rewatch. But here's the thing - I've learned that the regret usually hits around episode 5 or 6 of a new binge, right when you're questioning all your life choices. And then by season 2 you're hooked and can't remember why you ever doubted yourself. Maybe stick with The Americans a little longer, because there's nothing worse than bailing too early and then having to hear everyone rave about it later while you're stuck rewatching the same prison scene for the 11th time.
