Had someone critique my character pacing in a show and it stuck with me
I was watching The Wire with my buddy Dave last summer, and he kept saying I was missing how slow Season 2 builds up. He told me I was too used to shows like Breaking Bad where everything moves fast. I started paying more attention to the little conversations and setup scenes, and now I actually enjoy the slow burn stuff. Has anyone else had a friend or comment totally shift how you watch a series?

Happened to me with Mad Men. My buddy kept telling me to watch the characters' faces during meetings, not just listen to the words. Changed the whole show for me. Now I look for those quiet moments in every series I watch. Try rewatching your favorite show with a specific thing to look for, like how characters react in the background. That's where the real story lives.

Started watching Better Call Saul after my buddy pointed out how much of the story happens in the silences between words. At first I thought it was boring, but then I forced myself to just watch Jimmy's face during court scenes or when he's talking to Kim. I actually started looking forward to the quiet parts more than the big explosions. Now I go back and rewatch old shows with that same focus on what people don't say. Did you find that new habit changed how you feel about shows you used to love?
