Decided between a foreign crime drama and a new sci-fi series last night. Picked the crime show and it was a snooze fest.

Oh man, that's the worst kind of disappointment right there. I've been there so many times where I hype myself up for a foreign crime drama and end up staring at the wall after ten minutes. My track record is so bad that I'm pretty sure the universe is just testing how much patience I have left. Last time I picked a crime show based on a cool trailer, I fell asleep before the first body even showed up. Guess we both need to stick with the sci-fi next time, at least the aliens might keep us awake.

Used to think a slow burn was just building tension the right way. Then I tried a German crime series everyone raved about. Made it through one episode and realized slow burn just means nothing happens for two hours while people stare at each other. Sci-fi it is from now on.
