Appreciation post: the stranger who made me watch Dark on Netflix

I was waiting for a bus in Portland last winter and this guy saw me scrolling through Netflix and goes 'trust me, just watch the first episode of Dark in German with subtitles.' I binged all 3 seasons in like 10 days after that. Anyone else have a random stranger change your whole watch list?

Huh, that's a cool story. I feel like people are way more willing to give unsolicited recommendations when they're connecting over something they actually love, unlike most of the stuff we just scroll past on our phones.

Girl YES that show is a MASTERPIECE. I had a COMPLETELY random bus stop experience too but with a different show. Some older lady at the grocery store saw me grabbing a bag of frozen peas and she just goes "you need to watch the OA on Netflix, it will CHANGE your brain." I thought she was kinda nuts but I watched it that night and I was HOOKED. Three seasons of Dark in ten days is actually impressive that show is SO dense with twists and characters. I still think about that lady sometimes and how she basically unlocked a whole new genre for me.
