A stranger's 2 minute rant made me binge an anime I swore I'd hate

I always brushed off anime as not my thing. Too much screaming, weird pacing. Then I'm waiting for a bus in Nashville and this guy next to me starts going off about Attack on Titan to his friend. He was so into it, describing the wall reveal like it was the craziest plot twist ever. I asked him one question about it and he talked for 2 whole minutes without stopping. Ended up watching all 3 seasons in 11 days. Has anyone else had a random stranger talk them into a show they wrote off?
