Took me 4 evenings to figure out why my chain kept slipping on the same hill
Every day for about 2 weeks my chain would slip on the climb up to the bridge near my place, always in the same spot. I swapped the chain, then the cassette, then messed with the derailleur cable tension, and none of it fixed it. Turned out my chainring had one worn tooth and the chain was popping off it under load, which cost me about $35 in parts I didn't need plus maybe 6 hours of tinkering. What got me was it only happened when I stood up to pedal hard, so I kept blaming the back end of the drivetrain. I finally spotted it by flipping the bike upside down and cranking the pedals slow while watching the ring. Anyone else get burned chasing the wrong part of the bike like that?
