Took me 3 hours to realize I put a brake pad in backwards

Was trying to get my rear disc brake to stop squealing and just couldn't figure it out no matter what I did after swapping pads. Turns out I had the whole pad assembly flipped around with the backing plate facing the rotor lol. Anyone else ever waste a whole afternoon on something this dumb?
