That time a customer called me out for not torquing a stem bolt

Guy rolls in with a carbon steerer on a Trek and asks me if I torqued every bolt last service. I said yeah without checking and he pulls out his own torque wrench on the spot. Found I was 3 Nm over. Has anyone else had a customer straight up fact-check your work like that?

Man that's rough, I feel for you. Did he at least let you fix it or just call you out in front of everyone? I had a guy once bring his own torque wrench to check my work on a carbon frame and I was exactly at spec but he still gave me a lecture about being careful. It's like they think we're all just guessing with our hands or something.

@paige870 Yeah it sounds like he just wanted to show off his fancy torque wrench more than anything. Guess I'm lucky my guy just posted the photo online and left me to figure it out on my own. Between us, my hands are mostly guessing but at least my guesses come with a warranty.
