Spent 2 hours chasing a phantom creak on a 2019 Trek Domane, turned out to be the saddle rail clamp
Last week a guy brought in his Domane with a creak he swore was coming from the bottom bracket, so I pulled the crank, greased everything, and it was still there on the test ride. I finally grabbed the saddle and twisted it, and the rail clamp was dry as a bone, five seconds of grease and the noise was gone. How do you guys tell customers it was the seat when they're convinced they need a new BB?
