Just swapped a customer's cheap plastic fender for a proper metal one

They brought in a bike with a rattling front fender that kept slipping. The original was a thin plastic clip-on from a big box store. I replaced it with a basic aluminum fender from Planet Bike, using the proper strut mounts and a metal stay bridge. The difference in stiffness is huge, no more wobble at all. Anyone have a go-to brand for durable, simple fenders on commuter builds?

Remember my buddy's plastic fender that cracked in the cold? He switched to a pair of SKS Bluemels and they've held up for years now through all sorts of junk. That simple metal upgrade really is the way to go.

Hold up, metal fenders are a total pain though. They get bent out of shape so easily and then they rub on your tire forever. Plastic ones might crack once in a blue moon, but at least they're cheap to replace and usually just work without fuss. That extra weight and cost for metal isn't always worth the hassle.
