Heard a guy at the bike shop say 'tight is tight' about bottom brackets
I was dropping off a customer's bike and overheard this old mechanic tell a new guy that torque specs on bottom brackets don't really matter, just crank it down. That got me thinking about all the stripped threads I've seen on old frames from people thinking the same thing. Has anyone else had to fix a mess from someone who just went by feel instead of using a torque wrench?

Yeah tight enough strips threads real fast, a torque wrench saves you that headache every time.

Snapped a bolt on my old truck before I learned that lesson, now I always double check before tightening.
