Had to pick between a new chain whip or a cassette lockring tool for a tight budget
Went with the lockring tool from Park Tool for $22, and just used a piece of old chain wrapped in a rag as a whip. It worked fine for a Shimano 10-speed cassette. Anyone have a better hack for a DIY chain whip?

My version of a chain whip is just an old chain and a pair of vice grips. It looks so janky, but it hasn't failed me yet.
