Yeah I mean that's basically the same logic as using a penny on a cassette lockring, just way more painful. @ninas70 I respect the commitment to the butter knife approach though, that's a level of desperation I haven't hit yet. The FR-6 is like the holy grail for those old Schwinns with the weird threaded freewheels that haven't been touched since 1987. I've definitely tried the hammer and chisel method before and ended up with more blood on the chain than grease. Sometimes the right tool is worth every penny, especially when you're dealing with 30 year old rust.

Tried using a butter knife once and ended up with a very bad haircut.
