The expensive conical burr grinder I laughed at, then broke down and bought

Honestly, I spent 2 years telling everyone my $30 blade grinder was fine because I only made french press. Then my buddy let me borrow his newer electric grinder with those fancy burrs for a weekend. First cup on Saturday morning had zero sludge at the bottom, and the flavor was way more even, no bitter hit at the end. I still thought it was overpriced hype until I weighed the grounds before and after, my blade setup was throwing out almost 15% dust that just muddied the brew. Ngl, I ordered the same model that night, and now I'm annoyed I waited so long. Has anyone else found that a burr grinder changed their morning routine more than a new brewer ever did?
