That $140 pour over kettle was a total dud for me

I bought a fancy gooseneck kettle with a built in thermometer last spring because I thought it would make my morning ritual feel pro. Turns out the thermometer was off by 8 degrees and the flow control valve jammed after 2 months of daily use. Ended up back on my stove top kettle with a cheap digital probe, works better and cost a fraction. Anyone else dumped serious cash on gear that just made things harder?
