Stopped using 30 hashtags per post and my reach went up 4x in a month

For 6 months I was stuffing 30 hashtags into every post and watching my reach sit at around 800 people. Two weeks back I switched to just 3 hashtags that actually match my niche, and one post hit 3,200 views. The big pile of tags was putting me in spam territory and confusing the algorithm about who to show my stuff to. Anyone else notice a jump after cutting way back on tags?
