Picked short form video over long form for my pottery page and here's what happened

I run a small pottery Instagram where I throw bowls. For months I was posting 60 second videos showing the whole process. They'd get maybe 200 views. Last week I tried a 15 second clip of just the final spin and trim. That one hit 12,000 views overnight. The algorithm seems to push the short stuff way harder. Has anyone else seen a big jump after cutting your video length down?

That part about the algorithm pushing short stuff harder is spot on. I run a small woodworking page and noticed the same thing when I cut my 45 second carving clips down to 12 seconds. The short ones get way more shares (people love a quick satisfying thing, you know) and the longer tutorials barely go anywhere. I think it's because Instagram wants people to watch a video all the way through, and short clips have a much better completion rate.

Quick satisfying thing" is right... guess I gotta turn my 3 hour glaze sessions into 8 second loop clips now.
