My 4 a.m. post about a broken toaster got 12k views, my best work got 40

Last Tuesday I put together a quick photo of my busted toaster with a caption about how even appliances rage-quit before coffee, and it blew up past 12k views while my carefully planned portfolio pieces sit at 40. I spent three weeks polishing that portfolio post with tags, timing, and a custom graphic, so seeing a blurry kitchen shot outperform it makes me wonder if the algorithm just rewards chaotic energy. Has anyone else had a throwaway post wreck their stats and make you rethink how much effort you actually put into planning?

Bad content gets clicks because it's relatable. Nobody shares polished work, they share stuff that makes them say "same." Your toaster post worked because anyone with a crappy morning gets it. That portfolio piece is for you, not for them.
