Hit 1,000 followers on my cleaning biz IG and felt like a fraud for a minute

So I started posting before and after shots of houses I cleaned (dust bunnies, mystery stains, the whole deal) and somehow rolled past 1,000 followers last week. I thought the algorithm would finally kick in after that milestone but my reach actually dropped for three days straight. Did anyone else hit a number like that and then feel like the platform clapped back at you? I'm just trying to figure out if I should change up my hashtag game or post at a different time.

Is the algorithm basically your landlord giving you a rent increase right after you finally got your paycheck? I swear these platforms know exactly when you hit a milestone so they can push your reach back down. Might want to try posting at 6am on a Tuesday when everyone else is asleep, that seemed to work for a buddy of mine who runs a pressure washing page.

Right? I had the same thing happen when I hit 5k followers, my engagement dropped straight into a ditch the next day. Tried the early morning thing and now I'm just yelling into the void at 5am with everyone else's cats.
