Complained about low reach to my barista, her 2-word reply stopped me cold
She said 'so what' when I listed all my tricks from the past year, and I realized I've been chasing numbers instead of actually connecting with the 40 people who do comment, has anyone else hit that wall where the algorithm becomes the whole point?
Baristas are the only people telling the truth these days. Everyone else just nods and says engagement is down for everybody right now, keep posting. I spent six months testing hashtag sets and posting times like a lab rat and got basically nothing back. Meanwhile I said hi to the same ten people in my comments and got more real talk than any viral post ever gave me. The 40 people are the point. The number is just the scoreboard, and the scoreboard lies.
