A barista in Sacramento told me my post had no caption and that's why it died

I was at a coffee shop on K Street last Friday and the barista noticed me frowning at my phone. She said she runs a 12k follower page and told me my post died because I put the whole story in the image and left the caption empty. So I tried adding 2 lines of plain text under the photo and it got 4x the reach in a day. Is that a real thing or did I just get lucky with the timing?
