Switched from buying bottled water to using a $30 filter pitcher

I used to spend like $15 a week on Poland Spring, but I got a Brita pitcher on clearance at Target 3 months ago. Now I just pay for the filters and my water bill went down $40 a month. Anyone else ditch bottled water for something cheaper?

Water bill went down $40 a month" - I don't think the math works out there unless you were literally flushing Poland Spring down the toilet. A Brita filter costs like $8 and lasts two months, so you're saving maybe $10 a month max compared to bottled water. I ran the numbers when I switched and it was closer to $5-7 savings for me. Plus you still have to actually drink the tap water, which in some towns tastes like a swimming pool.
