Froze my butt off last winter before I caught on

I used to turn my heat up to 72 and pay through the nose. My electric bill hit $190 in January. Then I bought a $25 space heater for just my bedroom and set the thermostat to 65 at night. Has anyone else tried heating one room instead of the whole house?
