Drove 20 miles for a $9 discount code that didnt exist

Saw a deal for 40% off at a store near Gary, only to realize the code was expired from last season. Had already gassed up and paid $4.50 in tolls just to get there, so I grabbed the clearance rack instead. Ended up finding a jacket for $12 that was marked down from $60, so it kinda worked out. But honestly, why do these sites post dead codes without checking? Anyone else ever chase a fake coupon only to make it worse?

At least the jacket saved it. Dead codes are just how they get you in the door, I swear.
