The week my Palm Pilot saved me from a full data disaster

Last Tuesday my work laptop just died, no warning, black screen of death kind of thing. I panicked for a solid hour because my whole project timeline was on that thing, no cloud backup (yeah I know, dumb move). Then I remembered I had my old Palm Pilot m500 in a drawer, the one I kept syncing out of habit since 2003. I had my entire contact list and some notes on there, and it got me through three days of meetings while IT fixed my machine. Has anyone else had a random old gadget bail them out of a modern tech mess?

Used to think people holding onto old tech were just hoarders, but this is honestly a solid backup plan. Never tossing my old phone again after reading this.

52 contacts on my m505 are the only reason I didn't lose a clients phone number last year. Did you actually have your project timeline notes on the Palm or was it just the contacts that saved you?
