I finally flashed my old Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT and it turned into a brick until I found the 30-30-30 trick
I grabbed a $5 WRT54G at a garage sale in Akron last month and flashed DD-WRT to it, but the router just sat there with a blinking power light and no signal. After fighting it for two hours I did the 30-30-30 reset, holding the button for 30 seconds each before and after power cycling, and it came back to life on the second try. Did the old timers really just keep a spare unit ready for this exact mess, or am I missing some flashing step that would have kept it from bricking in the first place?
