Found a 1987 Macintosh SE running the front desk at a dentist office in Boise
I was in Boise last week for a cleaning and the receptionist was typing on a beige Macintosh SE. I asked about it and she said the scheduling program still runs fine and they never saw a reason to swap it. The thing boots from a floppy and prints appointment cards on a dot matrix printer that sounds like a chainsaw. I offered to help them back up the data to something newer but nobody there knows how the software works besides the office manager who retires in 2 years. That feels like a ticking clock. What's the best way to pull files off an old Mac when the only person who understands it is about to leave?
