A 1998 Kodak DC260 at a yard sale flipped my whole digital vs film stance

I stopped at a random estate sale in Akron last Saturday, mostly for old video game boxes, and there it was in a shoebox with a dead battery and a 4MB CompactFlash card still inside. I always swore film was the only way to go for retro photo stuff, even argued with folks here about it. But the guy selling it let me plug it into a power adapter he had for some other junk, and that chunky LCD showed a photo from 1999 of someone's dog. The camera booted in about 6 seconds, wrote a 1.2MP file to the card, and I could pull it off with a USB reader I happened to have in my trunk. Now I'm actually hunting for more of those old digicams, not to replace film but to see how far the early tech got before phones killed it. Has anyone else had a yard sale find that made you flip your position on a whole format debate? I'd love to hear what converted you, if anything.

Oh man, you found a dog photo and now suddenly film is dead to you? That's a big leap from one lucky yard sale score, honestly.
