Watched a guy in Brooklyn grow tomatoes in a paint bucket, and it wrecked my whole setup
I was at a buddy's rooftop party in Bushwick back in June and this older dude had 6 tomato plants going in old 5 gallon paint buckets he got free from a job site. I had spent like $80 on fabric pots and fancy self watering trays, and his buckets were out producing my whole balcony with just holes drilled in the bottom. I went home that night and switched half my setup over, and honestly the cheap buckets drain better and my peppers have doubled since. So now I'm that person telling everyone to skip the expensive gear. Has anyone else had a random stranger's setup totally change how they grow?
